Ted Nugent: Nugent
The portrait of a very sober-looking Nugent on the cover of 1982’s ‘Nugent’ gave fair warning that Atlantic Records' newly signed artist meant business. Plus, his reconfigured backing band -- including Carmine Appice on drums and a returning Derek St. Holmes -- certainly didn’t disappoint. And yet, for all their macho bluster, new songs like “No No No,” “Fightin’ Words” and “Don’t Push Me” couldn’t conceal small chinks in Nugent's once unassailable armor of confidence.
