Roger Glover Replacing original Deep Purple bassist Nick Simper in 1969, Roger Glover made his debut on the landmark ‘In Rock’ one year later. His first tenure with the group, performing on the historic ‘Fireball’ and ‘Who Do We Think We Are,’ was short-lived. The bassist was jettisoned along with Ian Gillan in favor of David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes, but has remained in Purple since the MK III reboot. His hard-driving, fluid rhythms have been widely influential in the establishment of harder rock and roll and early heavy metal. Loudwire
