Bob Daisley Before teaming up with terminated Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne, Bob Daisley performed with Ozzy’s eventual replacement, Ronnie James Dio. The bassist played on Rainbow’s third album, ‘Love Live Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ delivering grooving lines that drove Ritchie Blackmore’s pioneering guitar wizardry. Daisley was one of the architects of Ozzy’s solo material, not only playing bass but as a lyric and melody writer as well. His playing helped define the early heavy metal sound, working his way in and out of vocal phrasings for a sublime ebb and flow. Loudwire
